As I move on, more challenges are thrown in my path and sometimes I wonder if the story I tell is a really fascinating book that I read, not my life. So after my 3rd hand injection to release my seized up joint, I took up my tennis racquet again, held on tighter to the ski handle, reached for that attitude and No Excuses. There’s always a way. That is how card # 4 was born.
No Excuses. There’s always a way. Choose to be happy. Pay forward kindness. Balance. Sandwich comments -good,request,good. Speak with your actions-be a role model, save thank you cards – know that you are loved. celebrate everyday. Don’t complain – step up to the plate. You’re 1-5 down in the set – focus on the comeback one step at a time – that’s life. Don’t be afraid of embarrassment – you’ll miss the chance of success. When life throws you curve balls – learn to hit them back. No need for medals – fulfillment comes from within. Miracles are not always what you wish for – they may be right in front of you. Give compliments. Give a card – because. Paint sunflowers. Wear your heart on your sleeve – believe in yourself. Think of everything you love. If you focus on the negative, you miss the thousand positive things that can happen – take risks. Looking after everyone, includes yourself. Fear is the opposite of trust. Make a difference. Be the one. Make someone’s day. Exercise cleanses the chaos. Exercise the mind- keep learning. Believe strengths are bigger than weaknesses. Stay grounded.
There are stories to all these phrases. As you come across them it is helpful to recite them in your head as the situation arises. When you fall down 10 times you must get up 11 times without excuses but with the strength of an army of friends. The power of all those great people give us self confidence. I want to be part of that army to help more people stand up for the 11th time too.
